Welcome to my website my name is James Lister I have been a health and safety professional for over 15 years.

I start this journey when I was in the British Army (RAMC) as a Combat Medical Technician then gained my Unit Environmental Health Duties qualification.

After the Army I became an Offshore Medic/ Remote Medic. This became a dual role as a Medical Safety Advisor. During this time, I was working as a limited company and I worked in the South China Sea, West Africa, Norway, and The North Sea. I have gained experienced in multi-million-pound major projects, rig moves and shipping yards such as Remontowa shipyard in Gdansk Poland.

In 2015, during the oil downturn I gained employment with Bluewater Energy Services working in the Pierce field operating for shell on the Haewene Brim FPSO. I have been employed there for now over eight years gaining experiencing multiple annual audits from the HSE and other authorities, taking a lead role in implementing safety strategies and safety initiatives.

In 2022, our FPSO Went into Haugesund shipyard (Aibel) to undertake repairs, inspections, and a major upgrade for the FPSO to export gas to mainland UK. During this time, we oversaw the work ensuring that it was completed safely, once we came out of the yard commissioning was carried out for the vessel to start producing safely without delay.

During these years of experience, I have found that there is a lot of time dedicated to the day-to-day activities which needs to be carried out for the operation to run safely. However, it leaves little time to make continuous improvements and these improvements can improve efficiency for day today duties.

I want to make health and safety an efficient process so that there is more time to become proactive in all industries. By building systems that make daily chores easier creates more time for individuals to carry out their functions better. Over the last year I have created remote inductions and observation systems that have massively reduced administration times of the Health and Safety Advisor giving them more time improve the health and safety of the company.
