Legal Basis:

HASAWA 1974, Section 2(2)(a) and (c):
Employers must provide safe systems of work and maintain safe workplaces and equipment.
Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992, Regulation 5:
The workplace and equipment must be maintained (including cleaned) in an efficient state, in efficient working order, and in good repair.
MHSWR 1999, Regulation 3:
Requires employers to review preventive and protective measures and keep them up to date.
